Lise Sarfati currently lives in Paris. She has a degree in Russian studies from the Sorbonne and was the official photographer of the Academie des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Sarfati moved to Russia and photographed there for 10 years. She has received grants from both the Fiacre and Villa Medicis. She received the Prix Niepce and the Infinity Award from the International Center of Photography in New York for her work. For the past five years she has been working in the United States. She is represented by Yossi Milo Gallery in the US and Brancolini Grimaldi Galleria in Roma.
