Ansel Adams used a technique in photography known as Previsualization, where he would visualize what the final product would look like before taking the picture. He co-founded Group f/64 with other San Francisco photographers. In 1939 Adams, along with Archer, developed Zone System. Zone System allowed for photographers to determine the ideal film exposure and development. It was an organized method for photographers to define the relationship between the way they visualize the subject and the final results. Many of his photos are reproduced in calanders, posters and books.
